Seattle and 3 year Anniversary for J&R

Well… great things had happened …

What had I been doing lately… For Memorial Day weekend I
went to Seattle with my parents. Just spending time with them was great… The
city, I loved it! And thanks to Prof. Viney who gave me extremely good advised
about where to go, what to do and where to eat… Pike Market absolutely amazing!
It is very inspiring for me since I get to experience the success of lot small
business owners.  We went to Space
Needle, which it was an amazing view of the city. Also, we went to Pacific
Science Center, the EMP and Hall of Fame, all of them great! The city has a new
subway public transportation, which is very modern, simple and it is a cheap
way to move around the city, “The light rail”. We had a great time.

Now, moving on to something else, this past Friday, September
25 was the party for 3 years anniversary for J&R. I had a great time and it
was really nice to see that working hard for 3 years is paying off! It is very
rewarding and hope we will still be open for several more years…

I am still going to school… it seems that I am going to be
in school forever! But I love it! Love it ! I learn so much from my professors,
classmates, books etc…

Working projects:

1)
Working with Tom on “The D Magazine”

2)
Training myself Illustrator

3)
Doing “The taste of Downtown Merced” (I will
write more about this later, because I will love to heard feed back about this

homework…

Finally after almost 1 month of school I was able to finish my homework on time.

I has been really an semester but learning a lot of new cool things.

Finally, last week I went to rotary breakfast with my friend Jaime and Ale…

Also, snow is coming pretty cool! Snowboarding time!

Skydiving

I spent at least three hours trying to figure out how to edit videos. My original skydiving video was 15min long and 100MB size. After trying different things and I was able to upload a part of this incredible experience, and share it with you.

I still remember this day, it was at the end of January and I was freezing! However, I was feeling such an anxiety because I did not know what to expect. At the end everything was worth it. Absolutely true facts about skydiving:

1.       Nothings compares with it

2.       First time is unforgettable

3.       Do it with you best friend! (three years later we still get thrilling when we talk about it)

4.       It is pretty addictive

5.       A combination of feeling so inexplicable

6.       And many more…

The Kumquat

Finally this semester is almost over, two more weeks of classes and one week of final exams!

This semester was difficult! Well, Abstract Algebra was difficult! (And I am kind a sad that i just got my 2nd midterm Abstract test back and I got a C-)
Even thought I studied like crazy!
Between proving abilean groups, isomorphism, and cosets over and over again, at the end I got nothing proven.
Or at least my proves were incorrect….

Anyhow, this week was a working weekend, even though I did not work at J&R physically, there was a lot stuff to do from school, the shop and routes.

Starting from the creating of a cover, yes, we are on the back cover of The Kumquat Magazine from UC Merced – and it circulates around Merced. I designed it, and feedback is welcome. Please let me know what do you think! (Attachment at the end).  The cover is black and white, so i tried my best to do something in black and white that it looks good but not that boring or serious… and somehow attractive!

Between trying to finish my homework, get somehow a good design for the shop and finish laundry, I still took some a bit of time off on sun morning to go out to the golf range. Oh my gosh, it was a nice weather and it feel good to be out there…

Wish a good week to all of you, J
